Am talking about the bodyguards offering their services for dancers and private parties.

There are flyers and business cards advertising security for us.

Before signing up, check these guys out. Call then up, meet them in person. Ask where they worked in towen, with what club or agency. Get a list of at least three dancers and call ‘em for referrals. If there was a good time for gosip, now is it. If possible, tag team the gig with another dancer and let a third party know the name and numbers of your personal protection.

If the big guys have a problem giving out this information, give them the finger.

Danzine was a progressive program running for nearly 9 years, starting out as a 'zine and eventually including needle exchange programs, a thrift shop, and international distribution of their printed 'zine. Founded by Teresa Dulce, Danzine continues to be an inspiration in spite of its sad closure in 2003.
